I once reported a similar problem with Texel when using 1.15.12 and NAES

After lots of cut&paste it would abruptly freeze on a cut or a paste.
I could kill and re-start it once and use it for a while but the
next time it happened it would lose the file I was working on and
also refuse to start properly until a reboot was done.

The problem disappearred with 1.16 and XAaes
