2.4.5 generates fine 68000 code (it perfectly compiles GNUCHESS to run on
an ST, and you'll know I'd compile THAT with optimization!).

We used 2.3.3, 2.4.5, and now 2.5.7 on the SPARCs here at work.

2.5.x is broken on 68000, true.
