I had some problems too last night, which might be related to this:

In order to temporarely free some space on my bootdrive (NVDI5 needed
30Mb to print a picture...) I moved two folders to another partition.
The bootdrive (C) is a TOSFS-partition, while the destination-drive is
a NEWFATFS without VFAT. The problem occured when I copied the files
back, as all files in the second folder (c:\util\) became folders...
Nomatter what I did and what I used (Thing or cp) the files became
folders on the destination (C) drive.

Then I copied the files from a backup-CD and everything worked. I've
tried to duplicate the errors but so far without success.
