I totally agree with you. There is nothing practical or sensible about using Ataris and clones/emulators/virtual machines, it's all about the fun. I'm a big fan of Aranym and I use it on my laptop, but only when I don't have access to my Milan (or when it doesn't work...). It's something special about owning and using cool hardware. I've even spent hours making an adapter that allows me to connect a TT/ST-keyboard to a PS/2-port in order to improve the "Atari feeling" of my Milan :-)
