~/x11/xskat-3.3# chmod a+x xskat.x11
~/x11/xskat-3.3# export DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0
~/x11/xskat-3.3# xskat.x11

xskat started at 15:40, DISPLAY as suggested by Anders.

~/x11# netstat -a

you see, xskat is sleeping.

at 16:14, after 34 minutes(!)
Can't open display 127.0.0.1:0

~/x11# export DISPLAY=0:0.0
~/x11# ./xskat-3.3/xskat.x11
Can't open display 0:0.0

This is immediate exit, DISPLAY as suggested by Ralph.

What else could I try?
