The main way starting a x-client is to type in it as a command in
a shell window. If _that_ doesn't work anymore, the server is
heavily buggy. The way to start the server with a client as a
command line option is more or less a workaround for testing
purpose (and real not common in X world). This part have to be
rewritten, together with support of av_start.

The only solution I know at the moment is to append some file
extension (e.g. '.x11') to the client programs and make the
server an application for that in the desktop program.
