I think your Sparemint Update Manager (sum) is an interesting project. But maybe you should consider giving it another name than "sum". On my Linux box, there is already a /usr/bin/sum that does something completely different. I don't know if there already is or will be in the future a sparemint version, but the name "sum" for your update manager could lead to misunderstandings.

Absolutely ! For example my ports of abcm2ps and abcMIDI are updated almost every month. These are interesting packages for musicians. But most MIDI musicians running old Atari MIDI apps haven't switched to FreeMiNT. Many of those (very) old MIDI apps only run properly with Single TOS and a 640x400 monochrome screen.
